Following the example set by our founders, Mr. Knabusch and Mr. Shoemaker, La-⁠Z-⁠Boy is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the communities in which we live and serve through leadership, financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Our philanthropic initiatives include the La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Foundation, local community involvement, disaster relief, and Ronald McDonald House Charities, and in 2021, La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Incorporated and the La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Foundation made a combined total of donations of more than $2,7 million.
Our employees exemplify this spirit of giving through leadership and volunteer efforts in their own communities, and for numerous non-profit organizations, which include the United Way, Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity and others.
“The La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Summer of Caring” is a seasonal initiative that encourages and supports employee volunteerism during the summer. The program launched in 2018 and since then, our employees have accumulated over 25 000 hours of caring. In 2019, a sister program “The La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Season of Caring” was launched at the request of employees who wanted to continue that spirit of volunteerism during the holiday season. These programs correspond with the La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Corporate Mission Statement, including “compassion,” one of our company’s core values, and are a great addition to the overall corporate social responsibility initiatives of La-⁠Z-⁠Boy.
In the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic that were marked by a shortage in personal protective equipment, La-⁠Z-⁠Boy made and donated hundreds of thousands of masks and tens of thousands of medical gowns to healthcare workers in the communities in which we operate and offered masks to our suppliers for their workforces. We also donated recliners to local hospitals for healthcare workers to relax in after grueling shifts. Additionally, the La-⁠Z-⁠Boy Foundation donated money to local Monroe, Michigan-based groups and non-profit organizations in our plant communities to help those in need during the crisis and many of our employees made personal contributions to those impacted by the pandemic. La-⁠Z-⁠Boy also donated $1 million of furniture to frontline healthcare workers through our #OneMillionThanks campaign, where we harnessed the collective spirit and creativity of individuals across the Internet to say thank you to those medical professionals who worked tirelessly to ensure our safety.
In the early days of the pandemic, our Dayton, Tennessee and Neosho, Missouri facilities acted as drive-through testing sites for the community. Once vaccines were available, we hosted more than a dozen on-site clinics at our North American locations to keep our communities safe. These programs were critical in providing vaccine access. For instance, our Mexico clinic provided vaccine access to more than 12 000 community members outside of our workforce. This impact earned us recognition from Canacintra, an organization in Mexico representing the industrial sector and its employees.

Our commitment to comfort runs deep. That’s why La-⁠Z-⁠Boy is the official furniture provider of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Over the past 14 years, we have donated more than 15 000 pieces of furniture to RMHC homes.
This helps give families a comfortable home away from home while their children receive much-needed medical care.
In 2013, La-⁠Z-⁠Boy received the RMHC Outstanding Stewardship Award, which recognizes corporations that have embraced the RMHC mission as their own and exceeded expectations in their support of the charity.
It is our privilege to support RMHC and offer comfort to those who need it most.
Over the past fourteen years, we have donated more than 15 000 pieces of furniture to local RMHC Chapters, helped furnish over 150 new and existing Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programs across the U.S. and Canada, and extended the RMHC partnership to Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Our long-standing, multi-faceted partnership has provided $7 million in support to ensure RMHC can continue to provide compassionate care and essential resources to children and families being served by leading hospitals worldwide.
Thousands of volunteers have given back through time, talent and resources. This has included delivering and setting up furniture, attending and supporting local Chapter events, sending uplifting words of encouragement to families and staff, and participating in La-Z-boy’s national volunteer initiatives: Summer of Caring and Season of Caring.
